Uni Athletics
As a five year school, University High School is a member of both the Illinois High School Athletic Association and the Illinois Elementary School Association. Uni offers eleven different sports spanning three seasons to it's student body. Uni's Cross Country, Soccer, Swimming and Track and Field are annually respected among some of the areas' best programs.

Uni prides itself on it's no-cut athletic policy. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities to enhance their high school experience. In 2017-18, 80% of the student body participated in at least one sport and 22 student-athletes played three sports.

Uni State Champions
Uni boasts State Champions in Girls Swimming, Girls Track, Chess, and Scholastic Bowl.
Ema Rajic - Swimming
Ema Rajic won four state titles by winning the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke in back-to-back seasons.
Arielle Summitt - Track
In 2017 junior Arielle Summitt made it back-to-back state titles in the 800 meter run at the IHSA State meet.
7 x Chess State Champs
Uni has won seven state titles in IHSA chess. (78, 79, 86, 91, 92, 94)
Scholastic Bowl
The Scholastic Bowl team
has won the NAQT state title in back to back years and also are the 2018-19 IHSA state champs.
