Dr. Rachel Wortis Beda
Rachel Wortis Beda Senior Photo

Dr. Wortis is a researcher and professor at Trent University in Canada. Before her beginning her career as a researcher she studied physics at Harvard and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana where she received her A.B and her Ph.D. respectively. From 1989 to 1990 before receiving her Ph.D. she taught at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Continuing the trend of working abroad she did postdoctorate research in Canada where she currently teaches physics as well as researches condensed matter physics, the study of materials and patterns which can be constructed from atoms and molecules.

She entered Uni High as a subbie where she joined clubs, played sports, and enjoyed music. In her sophomore year, she discovered punk music which was influential throughout her time in high school.
