Former Uni High Teacher Audrey Wells (taught English and founded the Film Study class at Uni from 1983 to 2001) has co-authored, along with Perry Morris and Joseph Muskin the book:The Art Theatre: Playing Movies for 100 Years.The book celebrates the Art Theatre in downtown Champaign IL that celebrated its centennial November 12, 2013
Former Uni principal and math professor Dr. Robert Davis brought and led the Madison Project, an innovative curriculum for teaching mathematics, to Webster in the 1960's. This website provides access to digitized videos created from the original inservice films produced by the Madison Project, as well as information on the curriculum.

In spring of 2011, Argonne materials scientist Jeff Greeley won a DOE Early Career Research Award to study the chemical and physical processes at the molecular boundaries between solid electrodes and liquid electrolytes.

Rachel Hyman, class of 2009, is involved in Edit Huddle, a startup that was one of the winners of the Chicago Startup Weekend competition.

Alisa Rantanen, of the class of 2008, graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a major in Interior Design. She was honored at the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) International Conference in Chicago as one of the top five graduating industrial designers in the nation.

Mark Savignac, of the class of 2004, has been hired as a Supreme Court Clerk for Justice Stephen G. Breyer.

Uni Class of 2000 grad, Phillip M. Rowell II, has been named Core Services solution architect for Cerner Corp. PTY Limited, the Australian division of Cerner Corp. He will be responsible for expert domain knowledge, implementation approach consultation and process design for the Queensland Health Authority’s Electronic Medical Record Program. Phillip, his wife Jennifer and daughter Lily will be based in Brisbane, Australia.

Vikas(Graduated 1994) and Vilas (Graduated 2000) Dhar have started a law firm described as a "Social enterprise" and "Coworking pioneer" by Forbes Magazine They aim to use the profits they obtain from traditional paid laywering to do Pro Bono (not for profit) work, as opposed to only taking on Pro Bono cases under the laws that require lawyers to take on a minimum amount of Pro Bono cases every year.

Michael Halberstam, of the class of 1982, has raised $22 million to build a new theater for the Writers' Theater, of which he is the Artistic Director, in Glencoe, Illinois.
