Looking back on the new StudCo election process

A while ago, the results for next school year's Executive Student Council and each class's representatives were announced. With candidates now being required to give speeches, along with some other policy changes, we asked some of the winning candidates reflect upon this year's new election process.

Skating party replaces Turkey Trot

The junior class is bringing back an Ice Skating Party for students, their families, and friends to have a night of fun and raise money for the prom. The party replaces the Turkey Trot.

Bensken, Newman, Simpson elected Student Council executive officers for 2012-13

Voting for next year's Student Council executive officer positions took place this morning in the kitchen. Junior Wyatt Bensken, sophomore Chas Newman, and junior Kaila Simpson all earned positions. Class elections will be held next week.

In preparation for Student Council's 2011-2011 executive elections this Friday, April 29, the OG is publishing the bios of all the candidates. The election will take place from first through fifth period in the kitchen. Voting is open to all current subfreshmen through juniors. Bios were also sent out in a schoolwide e-mail. Looking for something to do this Friday night? Student Council's got you covered with an all-school movie night in Uni gym. Harmon, Ly, Mestre elected Student Council executive officers for 2009-10

Voting for next year's Student Council executive officer positions took place this morning in the kitchen. Student government veterans Rachel Harmon, Linda Ly, and Maritza Mestre earned the nod. Class elections will be held April 20. Students interested in running for class office must turn in their candidate bios to executive secretary-treasurer Natsuki Nakamura by April 13.

Candidate bios due Tuesday for 2009-10 Student Council executive officer election

Next year's Student Council executive officers will be chosen April 6. The positions that are up for election are executive president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer. For those who are interested in running, candidate bios must be turned in by Tuesday before midnight. Students can begin campaigning as soon as they turn in their bios.

Pasta for Pennies drive raises more than $1,700

In just two weeks, Uni High raised more than $1,700 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the Pasta for Pennies fundraiser organized by Student Council. The money will help fund blood-cancer research, education, and patient services. The subfreshman girls raised the most among Uni's 11 teams and won a free lunch from Olive Garden.
