Girls Basketball: Illineks turn season around to win 8 of last 12 games

Coming into this season, the Illineks did not know quite what to expect out of this young team. They had set a record in wins the previous year by going 25-5 reached the sectional finals, but they had also lost a significant amount of talent. A 1-13 start did nothing to halt the doubts about this team, but the Illineks showed their toughness by turning things around after winter break and finishing the year 8-4.

The girls volleyball season ended in IHSA regionals with a loss to Deland Welson. The Illineks ended the season with a 16-13 record.

Regional champions: Uni girls basketball moves on

The Uni High girls basketball team defeated Armstrong-Potomac 49-44 on Thursday night. The win made the Illineks regional champions. This is the first time a Uni girls basketball team has been regional champions since 1986.

Girls volleyball: Turnaround season ends with loss in regional semifinal

After a turnaround season, the girls volleyball team ended their season last Tuesday with a loss to Heritage in the regional semifinals. The volleyball team finished the season with a 19-11 overall record.
