DANVILLE, IL-- The Uni High girls basketball team defeated Armstrong-Potomac 49-44 on Thursday night. The win made the Illineks regional champions. This is the first time a Uni girls basketball team has been regional champions since 1986.

During the game, junior Emma Hoyer scored her 1000th career point for Uni.

The Illineks had a lot of fan support, thanks to a fan bus arranged by Athletic Director Sally Walker.

Uni will take on St. Anne at the Colfax Ridgeview Sectional on Monday at 8:10.
