So bad it's good: My obsession with "K-tai Investigator 7"
Published: Friday, December 4, 2009 - 4:12pm
Japanese television shows have a reputation for being odd, random, and often dangerous, but sometimes one stands out as a really good series. Too bad it's not "K-tai Investigator 7."

You can't train Iraqi police with soldiers, you need soldiers trained as police

Recently I read a CNN article titled "Army tapes reveal motive in Iraq prisoner killings."
Homework! Oh, homework!

- Homework! Oh, Homework!
I hate you! You stink!
I wish I could wash you
away in the sink,
if only a bomb
would explode you to bits.
Homework! Oh, homework!
You're giving me fits.
I'd rather take baths
with a man-eating shark,
or wrestle a lion
alone in the dark,
eat spinach and liver,
pet ten porcupines,
than tackle the homework,
my teacher assigns.
Homework! Oh, homework!

I get it now

Up until now, I don't think Thanksgiving has ever had a true meaning to me. Every year it entailed the same kind of thing: delicious food and a few days off from school.
The Uni food experience — quirky but tasty
Published: Wednesday, November 18, 2009 - 6:51pm
I like food. I like the texture, the smell, but most of all, I like the variety. I like to try new things and especially new restaurants. Being at a school with a student kitchen and being on a campus with a massive number of eateries ensures that we have limitless dining options.

Get a hobby
Published: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 - 4:00pm
Something that I think everyone needs is a hobby. Nothing beats a stressful day at Uni like taking part in something that you enjoy. Whether you like playing sports or video games, reading, knitting, or even collecting stamps, all are good ways to relieve some stress and anger.

This past week I thought long and hard who should be the first great Will that I profile, and then it hit me: I should start with Wills where Wills started with me.
So here is a list of very memorable Wills from my childhood:

Who knew Taylor Swift had comedy chops?
Published: Thursday, November 12, 2009 - 12:33am
I have never been a huge fan of country music. When Taylor Swift came onto the scene, I just saw another country music singer. Not worth my time.
But somehow she seems to be creeping into more and more of my conversations, and I see her more and more on TV.
First I heard little blurbs about her:

Where there's a Will there's a way
Published: Saturday, November 7, 2009 - 12:47am
William is a very powerful name.
It came from the Germanic roots Wil, meaning "will or desire", and Helm, meaning "helmet, protection." Hence a person named William is a determined protector, someone who will give up at nothing to protect what he has set out to keep safe.
Blogging about my favorite blog

One of my many current blog obsessions is "Stuff White People Like." This is by far the most engaging blog I've encountered, and it strays far from my normal read.
A mobile memorial: The USS New York docks
Published: Monday, November 2, 2009 - 10:56pm
You probably expected to see a 9/11 memorial rise from "Ground Zero." Perhaps a symbolic statue or a new building would stand in that spot, to symbolize our resilience in the face of terrorism. However, a memorial to the World Trade Center was unveiled today … in New York Harbor.
