Column: I thought it was my space! Should colleges poke around our pages?

Last week Kaplan released a study showing that 10 percent of the college admissions officers surveyed had looked at an applicant's social networking site as part of the decision-making process. Lor Sligar asks, How far should colleges be allowed to go before they get too much in our space?

I like Facebook a lot. I keep up with my friends all over the world, and the ones who live a couple blocks away. It’s quicker and often more frequently checked than e-mail.
