Column: As Pages for All Ages closes, my childhood is officially over

Book lovers in Champaign-Urbana lost a friend this week when the owners of Pages for All Ages announced they were closing the store permanently, victim of the recession. Lauren Piester had been shopping at the store her entire life. Now she'll never finish all the books in the young adult section, and a part of her childhood is gone for good.

Summer reading

As the summer fast approaches, I have been continually looking forward to summer reading. Last summer, I think I only read two books excluding the required summer reading for English. So this year, I really want to spend more time immersing myself in fine literature.
