Senior prom! The most important night of my life! OMG!

Saturday was, according to everything I've learned from chick flicks and teen novels, going to be the most excellent and life-altering evening of my high school existence. I would look beautiful, spend hours getting ready, and dance the night away.

According to those chick flicks and teen movies, I have failed admirably.

Apart from having the best date I could ask for, a sweet ride, and a beautiful dress, I just had a wonderful time this year at prom.

Until two weeks ago, I didn’t think I was going to prom. As a sophomore, an upperclassman would have to ask me, and that hadn’t happened. Then, during lunch one day, senior Katie LaPointe suddenly exclaimed, “Hey! Do you want to go to prom with me?”

Prom. It's just a tiny little word that has come to mean so much. Just looking at it without knowing what it is you might brush it off as you do so many other everyday words. However, in my junior year I have come to learn that to some people prom means everything.

On Saturday, April 5, I attended the Perfect Prom Project's Boutique Day at the Illini Union.
