Breaking news: A message from the senior editors

AH, YOU CAN'T beat that first school weekend, the one that follows the cute little mini-week when all of us are still in summer mode, and our sudden lack of sleep hasn't caught up with us yet. Our textbooks haven't been dog-eared, our pencils don't have chew marks on them yet, and our Pink Pearls are still sporting their crisp angular beauty, unblemished and sweet smelling.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Soon enough we'll all be up to our kneecaps in deadlines, practices, and exams. As seniors, we're accustomed to this sometimes grueling routine. All of us have developed different coping mechanisms that see us through to our next big project.

Along with the upperclassman confidence that we can do just about anything are the mounting pressures of the college search/application process. While most of us look forward to that next step, we know that a year from now, we will be experiencing the thrills and chills of once again being the new kid. In effect, we'll be subbies again.

Here to see us through it all is your very own Online Gargoyle. Our staff looks forward to documenting life, school, and the world as we know it.

As the coming weeks and months deposit more and more layers of challenges and opportunities at your feet, please accept this advice from your learned seniors: Slow down, relax, and take the occasional split second to acknowledge the unique specialty of this wonderful school that we attend.

All our best,
