Roving Reporter: Are you satisfied with how your college admissions process turned out?

By all accounts, this was the most competitive year for "elite" college admissions on record. For many months, high school seniors around the country waited for the news: Did they get into the college(s) of their choice? By now they've found out, so the Gargoyle decided to ask a random selection of Uni seniors their thoughts about the college admissions process: Were they satisfied with how things turned out?

I guess so. I dunno, they didn't bother me too much. I know that a lot of my friends are stressed out so that's not good. I didn't apply to any Ivy League schools so ...

I'm satisfied. I only applied to the U of I.

I'm decently satisfied. I realized I wasn't going to get into everywhere, which is fine, but I got into a lot of really good schools, and I'm on the wait list at my top choice, so it's OK.

Yes, I'm satisfied — a little bit disappointed, or rather surprised, that a lot of seniors couldn't get into their top choices. But I think it's just a difficult year. Overall, I think most of us are still going to great schools like UChicago or WashU.

I didn't get into my early decision college, but I'm actually kind of glad about that because I think I found another place that's better. (Photo by Sindha Agha)

I'm satisfied … I only applied to three schools, so it wasn't that difficult.

Well, I'm satisfied with my personal college admissions— I'm lucky that I got into my first choice, New York University, and I decided I'm going there. But I'm not satisfied with the idea of college admissions or the process. It puts a lot of undue stress on not only the students but their families.
