Fighting back with silence

About 80 Uni students, or slightly more than a quarter of the student body, won't be talking during school Wednesday. They will join in the nationwide Day of Silence protest against the harassment and bullying of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students.

Deadline for entering new Uni writing contest is this Friday

The competition is in honor of Uni graduates Iris Chang and Peter Kolodziej. All current Uni students are eligible. Winners in the fiction and nonfiction categories will receive $100 each. Students may submit writings done for their classes as well as writings that have appeared in student and nonstudent publications. Complete information is available in the main office.
