Almost quarter of Class of 2010 named National Merit Semifinalists

Fourteen Uni High seniors have just been announced as semifinalists in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship program. Uni is tied for 11th in Illinois for having the most semifinalists and is near the top in percentage. Check inside for the list of Uni honorees.

Shoompie returns to Uni: An update on the home-brewed band

Shoompie, known at Uni and in the community for winning third place at the Battle of the Bands last March, is coming to back to school during lunch Friday to promote their debut album. Check inside for band members' comments on what Shoompie has been doing since their Battle and since five out of six members graduated from Uni in the spring, plus future plans, photos, and album covers.

Class trip preview: Sophomores, juniors ready for Kings Island

Following the Class of 2009's successful excursion to Kings Island Cincinnati last year, the sophomores and juniors will go on a combined trip to the park Saturday. The students will depart from Uni at 5:30 a.m., spend about eight hours there, and return by 11 p.m. Revathi Maturi lets us in on the fun.
