Excellence requires time, and this year for Big Show cast members, time was not on their side. The annual showcase of student-produced comedy sketches and videos has been moved back two weeks to give the cast more time to prepare. The production was originally scheduled to be performed May 1-2 at the end of X-Week, but Uni Director Steve Epperson agreed to the cast's request to move the show to May 15-16.

The first-ever X-Week dance-off will get things rolling Monday during lunch for six days of fundraising. This year's events will benefit the Urbana-Champaign Books to Prisoners program. All the old favorites will be back: water balloon tosses, senior auction, and, of course, Big Show. But this year there will also be a talent show and an opportunity for hands-on volunteer activities.

After two days of auditions, directors Anna Cangellaris and Eunice How have chosen the cast members for Big Show '08. Check inside for this year's all-star lineup of comic actors, improv masters, and generally amusing people.

The spring play finished its run Saturday night, but don't think that means the end of Uni stage performances for the year. The arrival of spring wouldn’t seem right without the annual production of Big Show, the riotous, hilarious, student-written and -directed collection of comedy sketches.
