CANDIDATES FOR EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT
Jamie Blue (Class of 2012)
My name is Jamie Blue and I am running for Executive President. All of my life I have aspired to be the leader in every organization in which I have participated. From being captain of my gold medal winning basketball team, to garnering the “Undefeatable Award” for extra effort and leadership, to being the captain of the Uni varsity basketball and volleyball team I have always been the leader of my team. I take on each challenge and every opportunity and give everything I have all the time. I lead by example in the classroom, school, and community and would enjoy the challenge of representing University High School as Executive President of the Student Body. As Executive President, I will set an example of being an open minded, fair, honest, true and committed officer for the students of our school. I want to make the year of 2012 a year to remember not only in the hallways of Uni, but also on the fields, courts, and stages of our great community. I have worked hard the past four years as Class President and hope to work hard again next year to improve and lead our school. I have had the honor for the last four years to represent my own class. As an executive officer I would love the opportunity to work with the Student Council members to try to help my fellow officers build a great year of 2012.
Wyatt Bensken (Class of 2013)
VOTE WYATT BENSKEN FOR EXECUTIVE PRESEIDENT!
Hello students!
My name is Wyatt Bensken and I running for Executive President. Although I am only a Sophomore, I believe I have what it takes to make a good student body President. I am a very organized person, as well as a very active person within the Uni community. I am a Subbie Buddy Leader, run Cross Country, manage the Boys Basketball teams, and am a member of the Uni High Video Squad. I have also announced girls basketball, and volleyball games. In addition I will also be announcing the 2011 Illinois Marathon (with Uni Alum Adam Tiouririne). I could go on, about myself but that's not why I want to be President.
I want to be President of the school because I want to represent YOU! As much as Uni has changed my life, the students make it special for me. We are such a unique and interesting bunch, that it takes a bit of time to understand what goes on. I believe I can relate to most Uni students, and that is why I feel like I would make a good President. I have no problem talking to anyone, of any grade, about anything. I am very open to new ideas, and suggestions on ways that our school can be improved. I truly believe that if you elect me as President, that YOUR voice will be heard.
I want to give back to you all for making my time at Uni special. The Uni experience for me would not be as enjoyable as it is, if it weren't for you all. Students are what make Uni special, and I believe I have every trait that it takes to be a good leader, and make sure you're time at Uni, is just as enjoyable as mine has been.
In conclusion:
I am very involved in the Uni community.
I want to represent YOU!
The Uni community is special to me and I want to give back!
Soooo,
VOTE WYATT BENSKEN FOR EXECUTIVE PRESEIDENT!
CANDIDATES FOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Marie Lilly (Class of 2012)
I, Marie Lilly, am running for Executive Vice-President! I am qualified for this position because I am very organized, care about our school, and like to be involved. I am also open to everyone’s ideas and opinions. As Vice President of our class this past year, I helped to plan Prom (which
is rumored to have been the best prom yet), threw together a successful Valentine’s Day dance, will help to organize a fundraiser for X-Week, and more.
Since I have been a member of Student Council for the past 4 years, I have extensive experience and knowledge about how things work at Uni. I am also very dedicated to the school. When I ran for Vice-President of the Subbie class oh so long ago, I remember staying up late (late by Subbie standards… so that probably means somewhere around 8:00 p.m.) making signs that said “Don’t be silly, vote for Lilly!” While the slogan is a bit tacky, it speaks the truth. Vote for me because if I am elected as Executive Vice-President, Uni can expect a great year.
CANDIDATES FOR EXECUTIVE SECRETARY-TREASURER
Annie Rong (Class of 2012)
Hello, I am Annie Rong, a current junior, and I plan to run for executive secretary/treasurer. I believe I will make a great officer because I have had three years of experience serving on Student Council, and I am an organized individual. I enjoy taking notes, and I promise to show commitment to this position if you elect me. Thank you all very much for reading.
