Timothy Nugent Program to air on WILL radio
Published: Thursday, December 9, 2010 - 12:05pm
While you are preparing for the festivities Christmas eve, be sure to tune your radio to WILL-AM 580 to hear "Breaking Down Disability Barriers: The Legacy of Timothy Nugent."
The half hour program was produced by seniors Katherine Floess and Sheela Gogula along with a team of interns. The class of 2014 did their oral history project on the Disability Rights movement in Champaign-Urbana. It yielded so much good material, that Floess and Goglua decided to split it into two programs. The first program is about Timothy Nugent, one of the leaders of the Disability Rights movement globally.
"After the two interviews we did with Tim Nugent we realized that he had so much to say," said Gogula. "... and he's been through so much, and we knew we wouldn't be able to fit that into the entire one hour long thing so we decided to do another [production]."
According to Gogula, they hope the the regular hour long program will be finished by the end of the school year.
“Breaking Down Disability Barriers: The Legacy of Timothy Nugent” will air on December 24 at 2:06 p.m on WILL-AM 580.
