AFTER ONE DAY of auditions and nearly two hours of arguing over massively talented fellow students, the cast list for Student Productions has officially been announced.
The six directors of this year's StudProd gathered at Za's Italian café to cast the show after holding lunch and afterschool auditions on Tuesday.
"We were all very excited that 33 people auditioned," said senior Hadley Hauser, director of "Table for Two," one of the five plays in StudProd '09. "It was especially hard choosing cast members because of this year's massive turnout. There was plenty of feverish scribbling and pensive noodle twirling."
"StudProd" is the nickname for Student Productions, the annual collection of one-act plays written, directed, and performed by Uni students.
Practices began today after school. StudProd will be performed 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 in the North Attic Playhouse.
"I think we'll have a good show come December," said senior Laura Dripps, director of "Freaking Isaac Thompson."
This excitement is echoed by the cast members. As Hauser put it: "I can't wait for our first read-through! I also can't wait to see how our plays will evolve over the next few weeks as each cast member adds their own personal flair to the roles."
