AFTER TWO DAYS of auditions and a good three hours of eating pizza and arguing over massively talented fellow students, the cast list for Student Productions has officially been announced.

The six directors of this year's StudProd gathered at senior Natsuki Nakamura's house to cast the show after holding two-hour auditions Tuesday and Wednesday. Approximately 17 people were cast, with some playing more than one part.

I wrote and am directing "Superhero Complex." Nakamura is the writer and director of "All for a Kiss." Seniors Kareem Sayegh, Sierra Marcum, and Hannah Leskosky wrote and will direct "Romeo and Juliet Revisited," "Criminal Crime," and "After School Special," respectively. Junior Hadley Hauser is directing "Star 69."

Last year's production featured four plays: "Why I Hate Your Boyfriend," written and directed by Zoë Schein; "Can I Have That in a Sentence?," written and directed by Nakamura; "Run to the Sun: A Concise Vignette," written and directed by Kumars Salehi; and "My Parents Think I'm Perfect," which I wrote and directed.

Schein and Salehi were seniors last year. "StudProd" is the nickname for Student Productions, a collection of one-act plays written, directed, and performed by Uni students.

STUDPROD 2008: AN OVERVIEW OF THE PLAYS

Note: Some of the titles are tentative

"Star 69"
by Hadley Hauser
A woman gets a mysterious message on her answering machine from a stranger, and it slowly begins to take over her life as she obsesses over who the caller might be.

"After School Special"
by Hannah Leskosky
A high school student hears some of his peers discussing a public service announcement they are filming on drug use and mistakenly believes they are actually using drugs.

"Criminal Crime"
by Sierra Marcum
In this parody of crime shows reminiscent of old slapstick, a detective and his assistant try to solve a series of murders in rather unorthodox ways.

"All for a Kiss"
by Natsuki Nakamura
A sweet play surrounding the drama found around stage kisses during auditions and rehearsals for a school production.

"Superhero Complex"
by Lauren Piester
A kid thinks that he is a superhero, and his family is tired of it so they attempt to convince him that he is not.

"Romeo and Juliet Revisited"
by Kareem Sayegh
A lively musical version of the classic Shakespeare play, with a little twist.
