Where are they going? The Class of 2008's college destinations

Note: This list was updated on June 1 to reflect changes that students have made since the original date of publication.

SIXTY-FOUR STUDENTS, 32 colleges. Here's where you'll find the Class of 2008 next year, or at least most of the class. Five seniors plan to take the 2008-09 school year off before starting college.

As usual, the most popular destination is right here at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with 22 seniors choosing the U of I.

The next most popular school is Grinnell College, with four seniors heading to the Iowa school.

Four seniors will attend an Ivy League college: Ethan Berl, Princeton; Jessica Stark, Cornell; Ruth Welch, Dartmouth; and Alex Zhai, Harvard.

The West Coast attracted six seniors: Geoffrey Beck, Caltech; Micah Berman, Pomona; Shara Esbenshade, Stanford; Marika Iyer and Shivani Khanna, UC Berkeley; and Eunice How, Washington.

Here is the complete list of Uni's 64 seniors. The Gargoyle would like to thank Lisa Micele, Uni's director of college counseling, for providing the information. We have organized the list alphabetically by college. The name of each college is linked to that school's official Web site.
