  • Food Pantry Club to host car wash this weekend

    Food Pantry Club will host a car wash on Saturday, May 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. Each car owner can choose an amount of money to give to the club, and all proceeds will go to the Wesley Food Pantry in Urbana.

  • Gargoyle Auction: Gala alternative proves successful

    This year’s Gargoyle Auction took place on Sunday, April 14 at Uni Gym. Despite a smaller number of attendees compared to last year's Gala, the Gargoyle Auction managed to raise over $24,000.

  • Locks of Love: Sutton to get haircut at Habitat Carnival

    Next Friday, May 24, Uni’s Habitat for Humanity Club is hosting a carnival at the Lilly family's barn. The proceeds will go toward English teacher Steve Rayburn’s 500-mile bike ride fundraiser for the Clarksdale area habitat chapter.

  • X-Week '13 raises money for local charities

    This year, X-Week proceeds were donated to Wesley Evening Food Pantry and Developmental Service raised by funds from the classes’ diverse fundraisers.

Expanding Uni: The new plans for an old facility

When Uni sent out its annual report for 2010-11, the ambitious plans to remodel and add onto the building were prominent. The additions to the building will cost the school between $40 to $50 million and consists of five stages to be completed once such funds have been raised. The projected timeline for the expansion is 15-25 years.

Uni's got talent: Habitat for Humanity club to hold show

Uni High's Habitat for Humanity club will host its first ever Talent show Saturday from 7-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $3 to watch the show, which will consist of 14 acts, an intermission, and a presentation about the organization.

Kovacs warns second floor about harassment

At the end of lunch on Wednesday, Assistant Director Sue Kovacs made an announcement on the second floor hallway to make it known that harassment and discrimination is unacceptable and will result in dismissal hearings.

New award event to debut

In lieu of the annual awards ceremony that focuses on academic achievements, Uni's new end-of-year awards event aims to celebrate other student achievements as well.

Sophomore Exploravision team wins regionals

This year a Uni Exploravision team, coached by David Stone, consisting of sophomores Gloria Ha, Max Li, Ananth Nandakishore, and Roberto Chapa won their regionals competition. The team then placed in the top six teams at nationals.

Seniors Smith and Yockey receive Good Citizen awards

Uni High seniors Joey Smith and Sarah Yockey have both won 2012 Good Citizen awards from the Daughters and Sons of the American Revolution [DAR/SAR]. On Friday, they were honored at a luncheon at the Champaign Country Club.
