Audio Slideshow: Subbie Retreat 2011

This year’s large sub-freshmen class-2016 enjoyed games such as Drip Drip Drop and building candy houses at their Subbie Retreat on Aug. 26. The annual retreat was held at Crystal Lake Park and was a chance for the sub-freshmen class to bond and have fun. The day went well with great weather and lots of games for the new class to play together.

“The subbies had a lot of team building experiences and worked together really well,” senior and Subbie Buddy Rohit Palekar said.

Sub-freshmen Maya Vardy and Marie Su said, “the Subbie Buddies knew they were going to lose so they decided to let go” while talking about the traditional tug-of-war game between sub-freshmen and Subbie Buddies.

The increased class size of 69 was not a problem for the retreat, counselor Rachel Green explains.

“It went really well because we had more Subbie buddies than we had in the most recent years (…) also we have some really amazing Subbie buddies right now, who have really stepped up in terms of leadership.”

With counselors, Subbie Buddies and sub-freshmen agreeing that the day went well, what improvements could be made for next year? The vote among sub-freshmen is more candy!
