Senior T.J. Bozada patiently waits as he gets an airbrushed Superman tattoo (legal and temporary) at the Kalahari Water Park, one of the places he and his classmates went during their class trip this past weekend. They left Uni High shortly after lunch Friday. The seniors stayed in condos, about 12 students per suite, where they cooked their own food, hung out, relaxed, and enjoyed some class bonding. Seniors also had a chance to swim and go skiing. They returned Monday. The trip was organized by senior parents and students, with parents serving as chaperones. One senior, however, left late for the trip: Chumar Williams competed Friday night in the Class 2A sectional finals of the IHSA Three-Point Showdown. He went up against seven other sharpshooters at Casey-Westfield High School. If he finished in the top four, he would advance to the state prelims in Peoria. (Junior Jessi Sullivan made it to the state prelims for the girls on Feb. 21.) However, Williams' journey came to an end when four other players grabbed the top spots.
