Student Council executive president Isaac Chambers acknowledges the crowd after receiving his diploma during Uni High's 2009 commencement. The ceremony took place Saturday, May 30, at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts' Tryon Festival Theatre. The 57-member class entered to the sound of R. Kelly's "World's Greatest" and left with Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." In between, Hannah Leskosky delivered the student welcome, Dr. Allen Yiyen Tien ('71) received the Max Beberman Distinguished Alumni Award, history teacher Bill Sutton gave the commencement address, biology teacher David Stone gave the benediction, and Adam Tiouririne delivered the student farewell. The 2009-10 school gets underway Wednesday, Aug. 19.
