Senior Nile Hamer makes a save in the closing minutes of Uni's nonconference home game with Danville Schlarman at the DCR Soccer Complex on Thursday, Sept. 17. The save preserved a scoreless tie for the Illineks. The varsity boys are now 6-4-2 on the season and could face the Hilltoppers again in the Class 1A playoffs, which begin in mid-October. Hamer made 10 saves during the shutout, which was his fifth of the season. Uni has outscored its opponents 57-16. Senior Dan Lilly has led the way with 22 goals. He broke the school's career goal-scoring record on Saturday when he surpassed 2001 alum Tyson Masar's 62 goals. Lilly has 64 to his credit with almost a month left to play.
