Student Council executive secretary-treasurer Natsuki Nakamura displays the fundraising box that the senior girls have used to collect money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Pasta for Pennies program from March 9 to today. Uni divided itself into 11 fundraising teams — male and female teams for each grade and one for the faculty. The group that collected the most money would win a free pasta party lunch from Olive Garden. The money goes toward blood-cancer research, education, and patient services. Heading into today's final efforts, the school had raised about $1,040. The freshman girls were narrowly ahead of the subbie girls, $229.95 to $211.75. The final amounts are expected to be announced tonight.
