The racks outside Uni High were much more crowded than usual on Tuesday, Sept. 29, as almost 30 students — just about 10 percent of the student body — heeded Green Club's call and biked to school. It was the club's first Bike-to-School Day, and according to organizers, the event was a great success. "It was awesome that so many of you decided to forgo carbon emissions for a day," Green Club co-founder Brittany Scheid said in a schoolwide e-mail, "and hopefully you'll consider biking as an alternative in the future." All of the student bikers were eligible for a random drawing that yielded five "get-out-of-fitness" passes for a day. The winners were Evan Ramos, Isabel Vazquez, Anna Gooler, Sarah Sutter, and Katie Buzard. Look for a Gargoyle video about Bike-to-School Day soon.
