Wilson was among dozens of students who came to Uni dressed in their Halloween best. During lunch, Student Council sponsored the school's annual costume contest. The event, held in Uni Gym, received a dozen contestants, and the bleachers quickly filled with spectators to cheer them on. As always, Student Council provided the crowd with candy, throwing a colorful array into the stands. The volume of the crowd dictated how well a contestant did, and the contest went through several rounds of elimination before the winners were finally chosen. Senior Lisa Boyce as Hannah Montana came out on top, followed by freshman Alex Valdez as a Uni prisoner. Wilson and junior Will Fernandez (as Picachu) rounded out the top four.

It was the club's first Bike-to-School Day, and according to organizers, the event was a great success. "It was awesome that so many of you decided to forgo carbon emissions for a day," Green Club co-founder Brittany Scheid said in a schoolwide e-mail, "and hopefully you'll consider biking as an alternative in the future." All of the student bikers were eligible for a random drawing that yielded five "get-out-of-fitness" passes for a day. The winners were Evan Ramos, Isabel Vazquez, Anna Gooler, Sarah Sutter, and Katie Buzard. Look for a Gargoyle video about Bike-to-School Day soon.
