Awakening an interest in language and culture: Uni High's foreign language program

From Austria to Paris, to New York to right here in Urbana, many of Uni High's alumni have gone on to study and pursue careers in language. In many cases, our foreign language department has started this passion for language. Through language classes and trips to other countries the foreign language program has given Uni students the opportunity to get out of the halls and into the world.

The State of the Uni: Student attitudes and mindsets

As students, it is easy to think of ourselves as the bottom of the Uni food chain and point out problems in the governing bodies of the school. However, it important to remember that students make up the largest population within the walls of Uni and thus, the culture, attitudes, and atmosphere of the school are aspects very much in our control. For this reason, we are taking a slightly different stance in this week’s edition of “The State of the Uni”; we will look at the students themselves and examine the mindsets and attitudes that pervade the Uni community.

The State of the Uni: A look at Uni's financial standing

Gargoyle movie heroes: Round 1

Gargoyle Bracketology is back again for more voting and debate. Last time we focused on the most infamous of movie villains, so it's about time we tackled the more virtuous of film characters. We've changed the criteria this time around. Instead of a hypothetical battle to the death, this is simply a debate over which character is objectively a better hero. A death-match simply wouldn't be appropriate for such morally upstanding individuals. So review your options, cast your vote, and watch the results unfold!
