THERE'S ONLY ONE place you can go to see the Parthenon, the Oracle of Delphi, and giant pink pelicans roaming the streets? Yes, that’s right: Greece.

And that’s where a group of Uni students, ranging from subbies to seniors, traveled in June under the expert guidance of history teacher Chris Butler. Starting in Athens, the group met up with their tour guide, John, and explored the city on bus and foot, receiving many history lessons along the way. Visits to the Parthenon, the local markets, and the palace guards were highlights.

After a few days, the group drove many hours to visit Apollo’s temple and the legendary home of the Oracle of Delphi. Climbing massive amounts of stairs was well worth it to see the ancient ruins; columns lay on their sides, inscriptions still persisted in the walls, and beautiful sculptures could still be made out.

Gargoyle editor Sindha Agha was among the students who visited the mainland and the many beautiful islands of Greece this summer. She collected some of the best photos from the trip and put together this Animoto video.
