Welcome, Guest!

West Side (Scary) Story

Once upon a time there was a school. The school's name was Uni High. At this school they decided to put on a play. "West Side Story."

Seems ordinary enough, right?

Wrong.

The cast list went up. It was a good, solid cast with 39 happy people. Soon after the list went up, three members mysteriously stopped showing up to practice.

And then there were 36.

Plans were made to start finding replacements. Everything seemed to be OK. The cast members were learning their dances, the main characters were learning their lines, and everyone was having fun.

Until more disappearances occurred.

Two more senior males disappeared.

And then there were 34.

All was not lost. A young freshman was able to step in and try something new.

But the optimism was hard to maintain when a brilliant singer announced she would be leaving the play for a separate extracurricular.

And then there were 33.

Even though a young female sophomore was able to take over the role, is this a sign of things to come? Is our cast going to keep disappearing one by one by one, until all we have left are three Jets, two Sharks and a Lt. Shrank!?! IT'S THE CURSE OF "WEST SIDE STORY"!!!

OK, in all seriousness now, here's a shoutout to the cast: Please nobody else leave. This is a trend that has got to stop.

Shoutout to everyone else: If anyone wants to join the cast, especially to be a Shark, you should definitely talk to director Barbara Ridenour. Our gangs could always use a few more guys.

And the cast would welcome you with open arms. If you can't join the cast, come to opening night and see the hard work everyone has been doing. Even with a "curse" hanging over our heads, the play is guaranteed to be a showstopper. Hope to see you there!
