Kings Island adventures

On Sunday the junior class traveled by charter bus to spend the day at Kings Island amusement park at Cedar Point, Ohio.

Kings Island, home of The Beast and Son of Beast, was, of course, really fun.

My favorite ride was Invertigo by far. I think I screamed so much I cried. When I got off, I was so excited and jumpy I accidentally punched some girl walking by.

But even on a Sunday, the lines were decently long and waiting became tiresome. My group waited to ride The Beast for almost 45 minutes. So eventually we wandered off and found that cool Scooby-Doo ride where you shoot things.

Although the rides looked great, the park itself could use some curb appeal. There were a lot of fun things to do, though, like the arcade, tons of money-draining games, temporary tattoos, airbrush T-shirts, and lots of food. I settled for some Dippin' Dots and got a design with henna tattoo paste.

My only complaints are that about halfway through the day it got cloudy and sprinkled for a few minutes, and the bus ride was kind of long. It was mostly OK, though, because we watched "Ice Age" and "Mean Girls."

I would say this trip was a success, even if only half our class was able to go. Junior class president Isaac Chambers doesn't get near enough credit he deserves for planning events like these. Last year it was Six Flags, the year before, Allerton, and I'm sure our senior trip will be extraordinary.
