Welcome, Guest!

Why YOU should go to winter formal

Uni dances have become so unpopular, and frankly the rebellion is getting quite annoying.

Indeed, the fact that our dancing is policed by chaperones and Assistant Director Sue Kovacs is an extreme bummer, but has our coolness factor upped so considerably that even this Saturday's winter formal is too lame for us? What’s so boring about looking fresh in a shiny dress/suit/sweatpants, talking with friends, and dancing (or simply listening) to some good music? I say nothing.

Even if we can’t be all over each other while dancing, I know we can still manage to have fun. For those of you who still attend the occasional dance and disagree with me, I say this: A party isn’t a party without people. I guarantee that if a few more of us (*cough* upperclassmen *cough*) sacrificed a bit of our suave integrity and actually showed up, dances would be exponentially better.

Uni High students, I beseech you, go to winter formal. I remember my subbie year winter formal, which was way too much fun. The music was blaring, the people were happy, the dresses were sparkly, and everyone was dancing. It would be a darn shame if my senior year winter formal doesn’t even come close on the cool charts to my subbie year’s.

To those of you who haven’t been to a single dance, now is the time. To those of you who say you have other plans, cancel them or come by for the last hour. To those of you who were planning to come, I commend you, and bring a friend! Perhaps we can reverse the dismal decay of the quality of Uni dances and keep the winter formal tradition strong.

I'm with you, Anna. I want to go. It's fun to get dressed up for a night out, and it's our senior year, for Christ's sake! But everyone's acting like they're too cool for it, and I don't want to be there if nobody's going to show up. :(

So yeah, I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
