Time to go Gaga: Gargoyle guide to entertainment, the week of Nov. 23-29

There's nothing as epic as "New Moon" on the horizon in the entertainment world this week, but there's still plenty to keep you busy during your Thanksgiving break. If movies about ninja assassins and post-apocalyptic wanderings aren't to your liking, then take a listen to Lady Gaga's newest album, which has won over Katy Metcalf as the pick of the week.

"New Moon" is finally coming out! For those of you who aren't "Twilight" fans, it's also a good week in music and video games, with new albums from John Mayer and Norah Jones and the release of "Assassin's Creed II." On the concert front, violinist and Uni alum Chris Otto returns to town with the JACK Quartet for two performances at the Krannert Center.

Another dull week in the entertainment world. Music releases are bad, movies in theaters are worse. For gamers, the much-anticipated release of "Modern Warfare 2" brings some cheer. An art auction to benefit Uni will be held on campus at 6 p.m., and the brilliant humorist David Sedaris will appear at the Virginia at 8. Go to both!
