Concert review: Indie riches light up the Courtyard Cafe

The Illini Union's Courtyard Cafe is a great place to see a concert. It's even better when the venue and the bands match up perfectly. That's what Katy Metcalf found out Friday when she went to see opening act One for the Team and headliner Some Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin.

Concert review: The Fray rock Assembly Hall

Last week, The Fray performed a concert at the Assembly Hall. Many fans came to watch as they played big hits, such as "You Found Me" and "How to Save a Life." According to Nikita Dutta, the moment lead singer Isaac Slade sat down at the piano and began playing the opening to "How to Save a Life," she was sold.

A rougher sound: A look into the hardcore music scene of C-U

Erin Hayes has witnessed some impressive concerts in her day, but for her, nothing can compare to Andrew Bird’s Pygmalion Music Festival appearance last Friday. Read on as she explains how the multi-instrumentalist blew her mind: "Andrew Bird put on a show unlike anything I had ever seen before. It seemed that his reason for being on stage was not to perform for an audience, but rather to create art for his own fulfillment, which the audience was lucky to see."
