THIS PAST WEEKEND, Uni theater fans flocked to the North Attic to watch this year's spring musical, "Kiss Me, Kate". The show was an enjoyable blend of fun musical numbers and a creative plot that kept the audience entertained.
Furthermore, this production marked Uni fine arts teacher Barbara Ridenour's last before she leaves the school at the end of this year. With "Kiss Me, Kate", she went out with a bang.

Last time there was a
Last time there was a musical there were articles about it three weeks before it even came out. There are going to be more articles right? Why doesn't the OG cover theatre anymore? There were no diaries this year and this photo essay doesn't actually cover a wide range of scenes.
I'm not trying to criticize, I was just wondering if there is a reason for the lack of theatre coverage this year.
I agree
I totally agree. Especially with your point regarding this article specifically. There are pairs of photos from the same song in the same scene of the same person making an almost identical pair of pictures. There are also other characters, scenes and songs which should have been featured. There are two big numbers involving nearly the whole cast at the start of both acts. Both not only featured the chorus but also featured students who had non-lead roles in solo opportunities.
Drama Diaries
I can't speak to the other points, but I think most of the people in the musical were not in journalism, which could speak to the lack of play diaries, and some of us in the play (in my case, crew) didn't have time anyway...Ah, tech week. Curses.
Diaries
They haven't done them all year, and while there were very few people in journalism and the musical, in the past they have recruited others to write them. I have written them during tech week or shortly after and they are not hard to do during tech. I think it's primarily the change in the journalism program, with the new leadership, things change, and across the board they have been better, and quite frankly besides the diaries this play got the same coverage and this is the fastest the gargoyle has ever put out a photo essay after an event. Also, why doesn't the gargoyle EVER acknowledge the crew of the show. I commented with the list on the preview, and find it offensive that there are plenty of people (including myself and Margarita) who work their buts off backstage to make this show go. We're on the program, so the list is available, so why can't we be acknowledged?
