Though this is a really bad week for movies, there are a few events happening that should attract a lot of the Uni community.

Movies

Prom
It's movies like this that are the reason prom is such a hyped-up event. Prom is supposed to be one of the most important night of your life, the night all your dreams come true....Well, it's not. Sure prom is fun but it's definitely not "the night of your life". Let's just hope that this movie has enough humor to save itself from being overly cliche.

Fast Five
If you've seen one of the Fast and Furious movies, then you've seen them all. You would think that after four movies that are essentially the same, they would stop but apparently there is even talk of a sixth and seventh installment.

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night
Apparently this movie is based off of an Italian comic. Though I can't comment on the quality of the comic, I can say that the trailer looks awful. There are all kinds of weird creatures, from werewolves to vampires to crazy bat-beasts, and nothing makes sense. If the trailer felt like a waste of my time, I can only imagine what the actual movie is going to be like.

Events

Ebertfest
Ebertfest looks like it's going to be great this year, with an assortment of amazing movies to choose from. Passes are sold out but individual tickets are available at the Virgina Theatre. So be sure to check it out!

Illinois Marathon
Many members of the Uni community are participating in the third annual Illinois Marathon whether it's by volunteering or running. This is definitely a popular event this weekend.

Habitat for Humanity Brunch
When: Sunday, 12:30-2 pm
Where: New Covenant Fellowship Church, 124 West White Sheet, Champaign, IL

The Habitat for Humanity club is organizing a brunch this Sunday from 12:30 to 2 pm. The food is free and will be served buffet-style so you can drop in anytime. There will also be a short presentation at 1 pm. This is a great opportunity to support Habitat for Humanity, learn more about their cause, and eat some delicious food!

Why are all the movies bad?

I thought the guide was supposed to tell us about GOOD things happening over the weekend? I didn't know about any of these movies being released, but now I just know that they sound terrible. Oh well, I didn't want to see a movie this weekend anyway
