URBANA — When some of the best guitarists in the world descended on Champaign-Urbana last week, Uni grad Jake Hertzog ('03) was among their number.

Hertzog performed Saturday afternoon at the Krannert Center along with legendary jazz bassist Harvie S. and drummer Victor Jones. They were all part of Ellnora: The Guitar Festival, which featured such diverse acts as Derek Trucks, Keb' Mo', Ani DiFranco, and The National.

Gargoyle editors Will Fernandez and Sindha Agha joined the many local fans who turned out for Hertzog's concert. Besides taking plenty of photos, they caught up with the talented musician afterward and got a few words about what it's like to perform again in his hometown.
