Fall play photo essay, Pt. 1: Backstage with the cast and crew of "The Diary of Anne Frank"

UNI HIGH'S PRODUCTION of "The Diary of Anne Frank" opened Thursday night in the North Attic Playhouse. Cast and crew members have been putting in long hours since mid-September getting ready, but things really kicked into overdrive on Sunday with the start of tech week.

Here's a look backstage at the five-hour rehearsals the thespians went through each day this week preparing for opening night. The play will be performed again Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for students and faculty, $6 for adults.

The play, which tells the true story of a young Jewish girl and her family hiding from the Nazis in World War II Amsterdam, was written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and adapted by Wendy Kesselman.

After you see all of the hard work these students went through to get ready for the show, you won't want to miss it. For a complete list of the cast and crew, see the credits at the end of this photo essay.

Look for more photo coverage of the play, and be sure to check out our fall play diary written by cast members Michelle Gao, Lauren Piester, and Anna Gooler.
