A sweet start to the semester: Peppermint Paradise winter formal

Uni's annual winter formal will be held this Saturday at the Illini Union Ballroom from 8 to 11 p.m. This year's theme is Peppermint Paradise and students are invited to come dressed up for a fun evening to start the semester off right. Tickets can be purchased in advance through Wednesday by emailing bensken1@uni.illinois.edu.

A trial of the long-anticipated Uni Period starts Jan. 10. This trial tests a 40-minute "Uni period" on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays that allows students to engage in extracurricular activities such as tai chi. The schedule would also include an "after-school period" that gives students more flexibility to participate in other activities.
