It's Thanksgiving! Who doesn't love a holiday entirely devoted to eating delicious food — er, we mean, "being thankful"? Even if you don't celebrate, who couldn't use the extra three days off? Naturally, senior editors Laura Dripps and Maritza Mestre give the autumn holiday a big thumbs up. So what else is on their list?

First quarter is done — three more to go! If that sounds like a cheer, you're right. There's lots to cheer about, from awesome standardized test results to fine musicianship to inspiring athletic accomplishments. As for jeers, when "The Game" is one of your complaints, you know you're leading a charmed existence.

With the return of school comes Cheers & Jeers, the Online Gargoyle's pithy and always good-humored look at the highs and lows of life at Uni High. We've only been back for three days, but already there's plenty to talk about. Senior editors Laura Dripps and Maritza Mestre do the honors.

That's it, folks! The time seems to have gone by incredibly fast. We'll miss Director Steve Epperson as he leaves after two superb years of guiding our school, and those of us coming back in August look forward to greeting our new director, Jeffrey Walkington. In the meantime, we leave you with our last edition of Cheers & Jeers for 2008-09!

The year is nearly over, and the Gargoyle senior editors have plenty of opinions on everything, led by a big cheer for their impending graduation. But there's always a jeer waiting on the flipside: "While most of the seniors can't wait to get out of here, there are also some underlying feelings of dread and sadness that come with thoughts of leaving Uni forever, and having to become real adults."

Spring break has finally arrived. For seniors, this is the time when college acceptance letters start arriving and the reality of graduation hits home. For the rest of us, it's the time when spring fever hits and summer can't come soon enough. Overall, it's a good occasion to take stock with another edition of Cheers & Jeers.

Even though Agora Days has drawn sadly to a close, we still have lots of things to cheer this week — and, of course, plenty to jeer. From approval of the director candidates to general grumpiness toward the closed elevator, seniors Isaac Chambers and Lor Sligar share their opinions on it all. And just remember: less than four weeks to go before spring break!

Despite the end of our all-too-short winter break, the gloomy economic news, and the general malaise that always seems to accompany January, there's still plenty to cheer about. The second quarter is winding down quickly. Before we become too wrapped up in studying for finals and writing all those research papers, here's a look at some of the noteworthy things that have happened at Uni over the past couple weeks. And when your workload starts to get you down, just remember: Winter break is only two weeks away!

A lot has been happening at Uni High as the weather has faded from early autumn to near winter: Fall sports have come to an end (except for girls swimming — go Lisa and Milee!), "Shakespeare in Hollywood" is over, and the always delightful StudProd is right around the corner. Start getting out your sweaters and hand sanitizer and prepare for the cold! Read on to hear more about this holiday season's happenings and the opinions of OG senior editors.

It's the end of the quarter, college apps have started taking over the seniors' lives, a few classrooms got new window blinds, fall sports teams are entering the playoff season, the elevator's been open for more than a month, and you know senior editors Lauren Piester and Lizzy Warner have got opinions on it all.

Cheers & Jeers is back for the September 2008 edition. The Siebel shutdown? The fall play? The awesomeness of Uni soccer? Sarah Palinmania? The new Facebook layout? College apps and standardized tests? Hear our two cents about what's going down at Uni High and beyond.

We've been back to school for less than a week, and already we've got a record number of cheers and jeers to dole out. From the Olympics to Uni's summer makeover, senior editors Isaac Chambers, Lauren Piester, and Lizzy Warner have opinions on just about everything.
