ICTM '09: Uni places 7th in state's premier high school math contest

Despite facing schools up to eight times its size, Uni placed seventh in Division 3AA at the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics state finals held Saturday. Defending champion Vernon Hills won the state title with 725 points. Uni finished with 567 points. Fifty-six schools competed in 3AA, which is for schools with enrollments of 1,000 to 1,999 students in grades 9-12.

ICTM '08: Uni finishes second in Division 3AA at state math contest

Competing in a division intended for schools up to eight times its size, Uni High placed second in Division 3AA at the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics state contest held Saturday at the University of Illinois. Vernon Hills won the title with 779 points, followed by Uni with 709. The contest consisted of 14 events in such areas as algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, precalculus, and calculus. Fifty-two schools competed, having advanced from the March 1 regional round held at 19 locations around the state.

ICTM '08: Uni rolls through math regionals, ties for highest 3AA score in state

Despite being short-handed, Uni's math team swept first place in all categories of today's Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics regional contest at Parkland College. Not only that, but Uni tied for highest score in the state among schools in its division, 3AA. Uni now advances to the ICTM state finals, which will be held April 26 at the University of Illinois.
