Sophomore organizes shoe drive to benefit Guatemalan children

Sophomore Emma Coverdill began a shoe drive for Guatemalan children in December, and she's happy to report that the response went far beyond her expectations. Emma began the shoe drive after her family was contacted by Anita Chary, a 2004 Uni alum and classmate of her brother, Drew. Chary works for an NGO in Guatemala, and she was hoping the Coverdills would help collect shoes for the indigenous children, who often go barefoot and are susceptible to intestinal worms as a result.
