Countdown to Cultural Fair '08: With one week left, time to step it up

Gargoyle staff photo (click to enlarge)Information and food booths, like this one at last year's event, are one of the big attractions of the Uni Cultural Fair.

Uni High's third annual Cultural Fair is just a week away. The Oct. 3 event promises to be spectacular, but organizers need your help to make it as good as it can be. To do our part, the Online Gargoyle is hosting a "Countdown to Cultural Fair '08," a daily update by the event's organizers. They'll let you know what they need, how things are going, and what you can look forward to. Our second update comes from freshman Aramael Pena-Alcantara, one of the student organizers.

Step Up: 2 the Streets

URBANA — On Oct. 3, two rivals step up to the streets. In an effort to settle their differences, they will go out in an all-effort step competition.

So give it up for the competitors from Alpha Phi Alpha, who will be among the guest contributors to the third annual Uni High Cultural Fair.

We also have about 30 booths, but we want — wait, no, need — more booths to top last year's. Send e-mails to me.

We have had luck with contacting restaurants. But we still need your help to make it Alarstonishing, so tell us what restaurants you would want food from. So tell us.

This year’s Cultural Fair is going to be awesome. So I know you are tired that we have been asking for your help, from the many e-mails that I have received in return as response to our schoolwide messages. We will see you later.
