URBANA — Oct. 31 is recognized by many little kids as a chance to delight in the wonders of Halloween: costumes, parties, trick-or-treating, jack-o-lanterns, haunted houses, scary lights, and lots and lots of candy.

Though most of us at Uni aren't so little anymore, we still cannot pass over one of our favorite holidays.

Students celebrated by dressing up in innovative costumes, far more creative than the old bedsheet-ghost, and by attending the annual costume contest. The contest, held during lunch, was organized by Student Council. Of course, there was a lot of that Halloween staple — candy.

While there could only be one winner (sophomore John D'Angelo, the dragon), it could be universally agreed that Uni had a very good showing of costumes this year.

Check out this slideshow for an overview of Halloween '08.
