Anticipated isolation

The idea of summer always just looms over students as the weather starts to get warmer. Somehow homework loads get lighter and all you want to do is eat cold foods and sit outside. The word itself doesn't even have to be said out loud, but everyone knows that with summer — no school, no homework — comes a nice brief period of total relaxation.
Is it really that complicated?

Despite what math teachers think, numbers do not tell all

Tonight began when the bell first rang at Uni to dismiss us from our last class of the day. We lugged our giant orange-and-blue bags down to Kenney Gym, and fellow varsity basketball teammates/seniors Rachel Skoza, Jessi Sullivan, and I went out to Za's on campus for a fulfilling dinner.

Every year seniors complain about the college process. It's stressful, and how are we supposed to decide our futures?

Cultural Fair: A success or an excuse to leave class?
Published: Friday, October 3, 2008 - 2:58pm
So I'm going to be honest: I wasn't too excited about the Cultural Fair. My entire lunch period would be taken away from me for long lectures and food that I may or may not like. I even decided that I would bring some leftovers from home in case I was starving.

How do I look?
Published: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 7:03pm
The world revolves around how we look. You may think I'm living off in "Barbieland," but the truth is that how we present ourselves reflects a lot on how the world thinks of us. A tall blonde college student in a hot pink blouse and high heels doesn't scream math genius. And the new short kid who wears bow ties to class every day isn't the first person you're going to ask about the social scene.

Normally when we think of our siblings we often think about how annoying they are. How they bug you and fight with you and get you in trouble.
"Summer"
Published: Friday, May 16, 2008 - 9:32pm
As summer approaches I'm beginning to let out a sigh of relief. School is almost over. No homework. No tests. No waking up at 7 a.m. No afterschool sports practices. Total and complete relaxation, right?

When you enter high school your perception of the entire world changes. Well, maybe not the entire world, but what you come to value and appreciate change significantly from your middle school days.

Recently an e-mail was sent out to the student body containing a summary of a speech Bill Gates allegedly gave to a public high school in regard to how to succeed in life.
No, I will not share

I would consider myself a fairly good student. I may not understand everything in class and I may ask quite a few questions, but when it comes time to focus, take notes, and do my homework I feel like I tend to be on top of things.
