OVER SPRING BREAK (March 17-25), eight students from Uni's second- and third-year Latin classes traveled to Italy to see firsthand the legacy of ancient Rome. Latin teacher Krisanna Lucken organized the excursion. Lucken and two other adult chaperones (Liz Stern and Steve Zusman) accompanied the students. “Although Latin is not a spoken language like the other foreign languages at Uni, I wanted to provide my students with the opportunity to experience, in person, the site where the Romans left such a lasting linguistic and cultural impression,” Lucken said. Two of the students who went on the trip, sophomores Elaine Gu and Alan Liang, give us a guided tour of the group's experiences.
