Gaming update

One of the nice things about coming back from break is seeing so much new stuff. A fabulous new display to get us pumped up for The Big Read (more to come on that), a pile of new books, and a new magazine - Game Informer. We picked up Game Informer after Electronic Gaming Monthly quit publication as a print magazine. I admit being a bit puzzled by the April issue, though, until I realized that it has an alternate identity as the Game Infarcer (or April Fool's) issue. Loved this item about the effects of the economic downturn on World of Warcraft.

"Meet Chaos_Forge. Last year at this time, he was a guild officer pulling in 200 gold a day from daily quests, plus up to another 500 in auctionable drops. Today, he is just one among thousands of jobless high-level toons who have fallen on troubled times in WoW's current harsh economic climate.
.....
The situation is also presenting new challenges for online families, but _Forge's wife is staying optimistic. 'Things could be worse,' she reflects. 'We could be Alliance.'"
