Awards time
Even though I had to come back early from the ALA Midwinter conference, I was still able to share the excitement of the youth literature awards announcements by following the "tweets" (Twitter utterances) posted by those who were present. [An aside: David Pogue has some great things to say about when Twitter is useful, and, imho, this was one of those times.] The Printz winner, Jellicoe Road, by Melina Marchetta, was off my radar, but I'll make sure we get a copy. I think lots of folks are thrilled that Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book won the Newbery. I would be a lot happier if we had our copy in hand (it's been in "processing" since November, grrr...). I'm loving Gaiman's blog posting about getting the call from the Newbery Selection Committee. Check out the labels (tags) he gives the entry. Yep, scroll down.
