Books NOT to read

LibraryThing is a great piece of social software for 1) creating a personal catalog of books you own or have read, and 2) for figuring out what to read next. By linking from titles on your list to the lists of others who have selected the same titles, you are reasonably sure to hit on folks who have similar reading tastes. If you don't want to catalog your own books, you can still find books to read by using LibraryThing's new BookSuggester. You enter the title of a book you like, and LibraryThing searches for commonalities on the lists of members who have entered your title. But what about books you should avoid? LibraryThing is now experimenting with the UnSuggester, which sort of reverses the polarity (Dr. Who joke there). "It analyzes the seven million books LibraryThing members have recorded as owned or read, and comes back with books least likely to share a library with the book you suggest."
